Mr. Harris joined Energia Tejas in 2009. He became a partner in Energia Tejas in 2011. For the past thirty-five years, he has generated value through reserve additions for East Texas and Gulf Coast onshore exploitation and development projects.
For Energia Tejas, Mr. Harris played a key roll in executing the company’s Woodbine program. He made the key technical presentations that culminated in a 58,000 acre AMI agreement with Chesapeake Energy. Next, Mr. Harris led Energia Tejas in the Carroll Springs Rodessa horizontal oil project that he generated. Together with Mr. Mitchell, he lead the company as an early mover in the original lease acquisitions and played a pivotal technical and commercial role leading to Energia Tejas closing at 24,600 acre AMI agreement with O’Brien Energy.
Previously, Mr. Harris has planned and executed East Texas, Louisiana, South Arkansas and Mississippi regional prospect generation studies, and field evaluations. He developed the drilling and production for a development programs in the East Texas Basin’s Rodessa, Travis Peak and Cotton Valley Trends. His evaluations provided the basis for the successful acreage acquisition and the drilling of several discovery wells. He also played the lead role in generating unconventional gas plays for Stroud Exploration using seismic and subsurface geologic analysis. Mr. Harris generated the drilling target analysis and his program achieved a sustained drilling program over six years. In each of his role in exploration and development geology, he consistently increased reserves and directly contributed company profitability.
Throughout his career, Mr. Harris has supervised drilling personnel, geophysicists and engineers in the execution of his field exploitation and development plans. He has managed infrastructure, accounting, JIB and revenue distribution, and partner relations. He has also played an active role in acquisition and divestiture as he performed economic appraisals in furtherance of acquisition and development programs.
Mr. Harris holds a B.S. in Finance from Louisiana State University and a B.S. in Geology from Centenary College.
